25th Annual Agribusiness Conference

Time really does fly!  25 years ago, CalFarm Insurance Company in Sacramento (now a part of Nationwide Agribusiness) invited Dr. Emmett J. Vaughan to give presentations on farm and agribusiness issues to its agents in California.  Those first meetings, while well attended, could have been held in a small office conference room.  How things have changed!

25 years later, the Agribusiness Conference is presented in seven locations nationwide and offers not only a professional designation in Farm and Agribusiness issues (AFIS), but also Breakout Sessions on timely issues facing America’s farmers, ranchers and others that serve the Agribusiness industry.  Dr. Vaughan passed away in 2004, but his legacy lives on in the AFIS professional designation and the Agribusiness Conference.

"This is really a big deal event for us in the agribusiness sector," said Tabb Randolph, AFIS, Wraith, Scarlett & Randolph Insurance Svcs., Inc. Woodland and IBA West President-Elect. "The Agribusiness Conference is the only annual event where everyone gets together." Randolph explained that he attends to sharpen his skills and stay on top of developments in the industry as well as meet people face to to face who he's been working with all year long by phone. His agency is represented every year and he tries to attend every other year.

The 25th Annual Agribusiness Conference will be presented in Sacramento March 21-22 in a beautiful new venue, the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton.  Those who wish to start, continue, or complete their AFIS designation will be able to do so since AFIS 1, AFIS 2, and AFIS 3 courses will be offered.  In addition, there will be four Breakout Tracks for AFIS designees or others who are interested in specialized agribusiness issues.

There will also be special features to commemorate the 25th anniversary of this important conference.  You won’t want to miss out!
