The Department of Finance released several sets of trailer bill language this past week. Two of the trailers would: 1) amend the State Fire Fee and 2) change the due dates of insurer’s gross premium tax payments to the state. You can find the full text by clicking the links below:
1. Forestry and Fire Protection: fire prevention fees – would add “prevention of the expansion of wildland fires during emergency situations” as a permissible use of funds collected through the fire fee. The proposal would not alter any other aspect of the fee collection.
2. Sales and Use Tax: due dates – among other provisions, would change the dates whereby insurers and medi-cal managed care plans are required to submit payments to the state.
