2012 Annual Meeting Tuesday Features Sen Juan Vargas


The IBA West Annual Meeting and Installation of Officers Luncheon is tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 24 at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley. Onsite registration is available if you haven't already made a reservation. 

Senator Juan Vargas, (D-San Diego) will deliver the keynote address. Vargas served in the Assembly from 2000-2006 on the Assembly Insurance Committee where he was part of a bi-partisan coalition to implement workers’ compensation reform.  Vargas has been very active on insurance issues including public safety, education and prevention of elder abuse.

In 2010 Vargas was elected to the State Senate.  He currently represents the 40th California State Senate District, which includes the southern portion of San Diego County, portions of Riverside County, all of Imperial County and California’s entire US/Mexico border.  He began his career on the San Diego City Council.

Vargas recently announced his campaign for Congress.
