IBA West's governing documents require the association conduct an annual meeting of the members at the commencement of each year.
"This is an excellent opportunity for members to participate in the governance of the association and we hope many will attend the meeting," said Clark Payan, IBA West CEO.
The following is the official announcement to the members that was sent earlier this week.
Dear IBA West Members:
All regular members of the Insurance Brokers & Agents of the West, Inc. (IBA West) are hereby notified that the corporation will hold its Annual Meeting at 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley Hotel, 8757 Rio San Diego Dr., San Diego, CA 92108.
Each regular member firm in good standing as of seven days prior to the date of the Annual Meeting is entitled to cast one ballot on any item presented to the membership for voting.
NOTICE HEREBY IS GIVEN THAT THE ANNUAL MEETING IS BEING HELD FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
Adoption of the report of the Resolutions Committee, which will be presented at the meeting.
Presentation of the President’s Annual Report.
Pursuant to the IBA West Bylaws, the Annual Meeting witl be conducted pursuant to the Robert's Rules of Order, and no action shall be taken at the meeting unless members are provided notice of it in this official call.
Each member is entitled to receive a financial report that complies with section 8321 of the California Nonprofit Corporations Law. This report will be distributed to members in attendance at the Annual Meeting, and it will be available, upon written request, to members following the meeting.
