Member C.M. Meiers Participated in Statewide "Shakeout Drill"

 

Actions speak loudly when it comes to evacuation planning.

On Oct. 21, 2011 at 10:21 a.m., C.M. Meiers Company Inc. took part in the California Shakeout Drill with millions of other businesses.

The agency’s goal was to evacuate all 90+ of their employees to a safe location in under two minutes. With careful planning and effective execution, they were able to meet their desired goal. In addition to creating an evacuation plan, they created a complete disaster supply kit and will be offering CPR and first aid classes to their employees to ensure a safe work environment.

Insurance professionals understand that evacuation planning and disaster preparedness needs to be a vital part of any company’s safety plan. C.M. Meiers constantly educates their clients on how they too can create a disaster-prepared work environment.

This is the third year in a row that C.M. Meiers Company has participated in this drill.

IBA West staff also participated in the drill this week which coincided with 4.2 quake in the Bay Area.
