Beat the Competition with IIABCal Personal Umbrella Enhancements

Recent enhancements to the IBA West Personal Umbrella Program, offered through Anderson & Murison, beat many market competitors in both price and coverage, including: 

  • A new UM/UIM coverage limit for a California policy is now offered at $2 million.  This includes A&M’s “BIG Umbrella (personal/commercial) product.  The cost to add UM/UIM coverage is $50 per auto for $ 1 million and $100 per auto for $2 million of coverage. 

Independent agents have been successful marketing umbrella coverage to policyholders when they are responsible for an accident, but not as successful explaining the importance of coverage when someone else is responsible and under or uninsured.   

Overall, California has a 14.4% uninsured motorist rate which doesn't take into consideration the number of under insured drivers.   This rate is more than 20% in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Imperial counties.  Your clients are willing to protect themselves when they are liable, why not protect their assets when the other party doesn't carry enough insurance? 

The new UM/UIM coverage provides you the opportunity to offer your clients an additional coverage benefit that might end up saving them in the long run. 

  • No mid-term endorsements.   Prior policy language said that, if the insured adds a car or home, the administrator would have to endorse the policy for coverage.  Now, as long as the change is not due to the underlying coverage, there is no charge and the administrator can pick it up at renewal.  This is a big time saver for the agency CSRs!
     
  • The program now admitted in all western states and offers reduced minimum premium and policy fee discounts over the standard Scottsdale umbrella program.
     
  • $25,000 of Identity Theft coverage is now available for $25.

 Rollover Your Umbrella Book & Save Your Clients’ Money!

IBA West has streamlined its umbrella program rollover process by quoting the policies all in advanced, providing letters to the insureds, and direct billing the policies.  The agent's responsibility is only to handle any questions and follow up with the insured.  If the insured selects to move the policy to IBA West, the savings can be applied to provide additional coverage.  IBA West continues to offer its member agents $15 for a personal umbrella and $50 for BIG on rollover business.

New To California: If the agent submits a quote to IBA West administrators that they are unable to quote, but the agent receives a quote from another stand-alone personal umbrella carrier, the IBA West administrator we will pay the agent $50.  Rules and conditions apply on all offers.
