Scholarships and Awards Available for Young Agents and Brokers

Don’t miss the opportunity to help pay your way to attend the 2011 Leadership & Sales Conference brought to you by the Young Brokers & Agents of IBA West.  

IBA West is offering two scholarships this year worth $500 each.  One will be awarded to a first time attendee and the other will be awarded to either a first time attendee or a past attendee.  This is a great way to help offset your expenses to this award winning conference.  All you have to do is compose a 250- 500 word essay.

Nominate a Special Young Agent for the Anthony J. DiBuduo and Harlan Miller Scholarships 

The IBA West Young Brokers & Agents Committee is now accepting nominations from the membership for its two premier awards for young professionals in the insurance industry.  The nomination deadline is April 15th and members are urged to  nominate an outstanding young agent for the Anthony J. DiBuduo Award and the Harlan Miller Scholarship.

The Anthony J. DiBuduo Award is presented annually to the most outstanding young broker or agent in an IBA West state based on his or her record of exemplary service to community or association and through participation in IBA West or IIABA political action programs.  The DiBuduo Award includes a $2,500 stipend that the deserving young broker or agent may utilize as he or she sees fit to continue the good works recognized through the award.

The Harlan Miller Scholarship is presented annually to a young agent or broker in California who demonstrated outstanding dedication to the political grassroots program of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA).  

Harlan Miller Scholarship recipients receive $1,000 to offset expenses they incur participating in the IIABA Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. This outstanding annual event brings agents and brokers from across the country to Capitol Hill to meet their Members of Congress and staffs to discuss insurance issues.
