2011 IIABCal Officers and Directors

Congratulations to the following officers and directors installed by IBA West CEO Clark Payan to lead the association in 2011 upon their election by the members at the annual meeting held in Pasadena on Wednesday.

President:  Timothy R. Manaka Jr, AAI, FIA Insurance Services, Inc., Pasadena.  

Manaka is currently senior vice president of FIA Insurance Services in Pasadena, CA. 

Manaka has served IBA West in various capacities for many years. From 2005–08 he served on the Board of Directors. He has served on the Agent Brokers Legislative Council since 1989, working with educating local legislators in Sacramento and Washington, D.C. on insurance issues and how they impacts his clients.

He has served on several committees including the Technical Lines, Personal Lines and the Young Brokers & Agents committees.  He was the chairman of California’s YBA Committee in 1989-90. He has also served on the National Young Agents Committee for the IIABA where he was the Far West regional director in charge of the 11 western states. Tim served as the national chairman of the Diversity Task Force for the IIABA from 2005-08.  He also served as a member from 2002-05.

Manaka also served on the IIAB of Los Angeles board of directors, and served as secretary, vice president and president.

Steven Shea, CISC, Barney & Barney, San Diego. Steve is a Principal in Barney & Barney's Commercial Division, where he is responsible for account service and retention, new client development, and leadership of the firm's non-profit and hospitality practice groups.

Secretary-Treasurer: Tabb G. Randolph, AFIS, Wraith, Scarlett & Randolph Insurance Services, Inc., Woodland. 

Tabb G. Randolph, AFIS, Wraith, Scarlett & Randolph Insurance Services, Inc., Woodland. Tabb began his insurance career in January 1979, joining his father’s insurance agency, Neal Randolph Insurance Agency, Inc.  In 1990 Tabb merged the firm of Neal Randolph Insurance Agency, Inc with the Scarlett & Kolen Insurance Agency forming a new firm known as Scarlett, Kolen & Randolph Insurance Agency.  Tabb now serves as a Sr. Vice-President and Secretary for Wraith Scarlett & Randolph Insurance Services, Inc.

Richard E. Dinger, Crescenta Valley Insurance, La Crescenta. Rick Dinger is the president of Crescenta Valley Insurance, where he started his career in 1985. Rick has been a leader in the insurance association, including past president of IBA West.

The following directors were elected to the IBA West Board: 

Northern California Regional Director: Bruce Callander, Sweet and Baker, San Francisco.  

Bruce Callander is the president of Sweet & Baker and is responsible both for contracting with insurance companies and for the general operations of the agency.

Southern California Regional Director: Jeff Chan, AIA Insurance Agency, La Canada.

Jeff Chan began his career in small family run agency Pasadena 20 years ago.  In the late 90s’ the Agency merged with the current A.I.A. Insurance Agency in La Canada. For the past 5 years Jeff had served on the local IBA Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena Chapter as the President and Board Director.  

 Associate Member Director: Bob O’Hollearn, Allied Insurance, Sacramento. 

Bob O’Hollearn is regional vice president, Pacific Coast Regional Office of Allied Insurance in Sacramento. Bob’s career with Allied spans more than 38 years. During his tenure, he has been deeply involved in all aspects of the company. He served both the Lincoln and Des Moines regional offices in claims management positions and led the Des Moines Regional Office as regional vice president from January 2001 to July 2003. Bob currently serves on the board of directors for Allied Group, Inc., Allied Property and Casualty Insurance Company, AMCO Insurance Company, Depositors Insurance Company.
