Chris Alexander Named Safeco Regional General Manager

Safeco Insurance this week announced the appointment of Chris Alexander to Regional General Manager for its California region personal lines operation. 

Mr. Alexander will be based in Aliso Viejo and comes to this position from New York, where he most recently was Safeco’s Region Manager for New York and New Jersey since 2008. While Alexander was in this role, Safeco was honored by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York as Outstanding Super Regional Personal Lines Company Partner for 2010.

“Chris has shown great leadership managing Safeco’s production and profitability in one of the largest, most complex insurance marketplaces in the country,” said John Mileski, senior vice president, and manager, Distribution. “He has demonstrated his ability to build deep partnerships with Safeco’s agency force, and his track record and experience will serve him well in his role in California.”

Key to Mr. Alexander’s new position will be continuing the cohesive relationship with Golden Eagle Insurance™, Liberty Mutual Agency Market’s commercial lines company that works with independent agents in California.

Prior to joining Safeco, Mr. Alexander was responsible for a wide range of personal and commercial lines assignments for Liberty Mutual, including underwriting, product launches, agency business model development, and field marketing. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and masters degrees in both business administration and finance from Boston College.
