IICF Insurance Day October 19, 2010

Center for Insurance Studies (CIS) at Cal State Fullerton will be co-hosting the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) annual Insurance Day on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 10am-7pm. Organizers hope to double the size of last year’s event.Student volunteers from all of the student associations in the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics are also invited to participate. Organizers hope to attract approximately 1,000 students.

This year's goal for the scholarship fund is $10,000. As a results, IICF invites all members ot the insurance industry and their friends to participate.

There are many different possibilities for participation:

  • Each company can send one guest speaker to a class, depending on availability and the background of the speaker
  • Anyone can volunteer at their company’s tables and talk to students during the main event in the Mihaylo Hall courtyard
  • Company HR representatives can participate in either the lunch or dinner symposium panel discussions
  • Companies can donate their promotional items for raffle prizes*—last year, companies asked us for a list of items that a student might want to win in a raffle, but this year it will be based on your preferences. *This is a very popular item with the students, so please give it some consideration.
  • Company representatives will draw the winning names for the prizes their companies donated; the raffles will be drawn every hour based on the number of prizes contributed to the pool

IICF is hoping to market the CIS insurance curriculum to CSUF students, especially the Risk Management and Insurance concentration at the undergrad and MBA levels.
